Cincinnati S Byron Threats to Enter Transfer Portal

On the same day that Cincinnati learned that its starting defensive tackle, Dontay Corleone, would return for the 2024 season, it also learned that it would be losing a starter in its secondary.

Bearcats safety Byron Threats will enter the transfer portal after playing in all 12 games for Cinci in 2023. Threats recorded 57 tackles on the year, adding a forced fumble, two interceptions, and six pass breakups.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, Threats is native to Columbus (Oh.) and just finished his junior season, meaning he’s got at least one year of eligibility remaining.

Threats is a former three-star recruit in the 2021 class, ranked as the No. 30 athlete in the class and the No. 19 player in the state of Ohio.

Out of high school, Threats held offers from several other Division I programs, including Iowa State, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Purdue, among others.
