With transfer portal season officially upon us, college football fans are beginning to witness big names from their favorite teams announce their decision to enter the portal.
Kansas State cornerback Will Lee III announced on Tuesday afternoon that he would be entering the transfer portal following his sophomore season with the Wildcats, hitting the portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
Lee was a massive part of Chris Klieman’s defense in the 2023 season and started the majority of games in Manhattan. Lee finished his sophomore season off with 32 total tackles, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and six pass breakups.
Lee announced his decision to enter his name in the portal while thanking Wildcat fans for their support saying, “Thank you Coach Malone and the K-State football staff for believing in me and helping me become a man outside of the game of football. I love all my K-State brothers who helped me along the journey and treated me like family right when I arrived. Thank you K-State football.”
Kansas State will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024 season. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college football history, Klieman should have some options available for replacement.
