With transfer portal season officially upon us, college football fans are beginning to witness big names from their favorite teams announce their decision to enter the portal.
Price was a big piece of Joey McGuire’s passing attack in 2023 totaling 43 catches for 410 yards and five touchdowns in his senior season. Price elected to jump into the transfer portal for his final season of eligibility with a loaded class of talented incoming freshmen headed to Lubbock in 2024 which could take some of Price’s snaps on the field.
While Price did not officially announce his decision with a post commemorating his time in Lubbock, he did post on social media asking for help through an uncertain time in his life.
“There’s no question of your greatness my lord, I ask you to walk with me through this uncertain time my God,” Price said. “I know you’re always working lord and never will I doubt your work, I pray you just give me a clear heart and a clear mind my God.”
Texas Tech will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024 season. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college football history, McGuire should have some options available for replacement.
