Pete Thamel Believes Quinn Ewers’ Return to Texas is Likely
While Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has been generating some buzz among NFL scouts, the 2024 NFL Draft is absolutely loaded at the quarterback position.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Saturday morning that the possibility of Ewers returning to Texas for the 2024 season has become more likely over the past few weeks.
Thamel also reports that Ewers’ update on his future with the Longhorns could come as early as next week.
Quinn Ewers was one of the top quarterbacks in the Big 12 Conference this season, and despite missing games against BYU and Kansas State, Ewers still finished fourth in the league in total passing yards. Before the Big 12 Championship, the Texas native recorded 213 completions for 2,709 yards and a touchdown to interception ratio of 17-5.
According to NFLDraftBuzz, Ewers is graded as the seventh-ranked quarterback prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft behind Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Michael Penix, Shedeur Sanders, and Bo Nix.
While the verdict is still out on a potential return for Quinn Ewers to Texas, if he elects to return in 2024 for his junior season, Ewers would likely become one of the top options in the 2025 NFL Draft class.
