NCAA Football: CFP National Championship Media Day-Texas Christian

While all publicity may or may not be good publicity, Texas Longhorns fans attending the 2023 Big 12 Championship Game made sure to let Brett Yormark know that he’s a popular guy.

As Yormark headed for the tunnel at AT&T Stadium ahead of the Big 12 Championship Game between Texas and Oklahoma State, Longhorns fans booed Yormark while the league commissioner fired them up by calling for more energy.

Then, after the game, Yormark was booed mercilessly by Texas fans as he presented them the Big 12 Championship. Here’s the video.

Yormark’s comfortability as the bad guy in the eyes of Texas fans has been a fun storyline to watch this season. The Big 12 Commissioner addressed some of the backlash from Longhorns fans saying, “To put it behind us, I love the Texas team, I’m great friends with the coach and the AD. I wish them all well.”

Yormark continued by mentioning the possibility of Texas earning a bid to the CFP saying, “If Texas wins, they definitely deserve consideration for the CFP and we’ll support them in any way possible.”

The Longhorns won the game 49-21 for their first Big 12 Championship since 2009.
