The Kansas State Wildcats are headed to the Pop-Tarts Bowl later this month to take on the NC State Wolfpack, according to the Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.

The game is set for Thursday, December 28th at 4:45 p.m. central. The game will be at Camping World Stadium.

Kansas State is coming off an 8-4 season after winning the Big 12 Conference in 2022. The Wildcats got off to a solid 2-0 start but lost a non-conference game to Missouri in Week 3 before dropping their second game in conference play to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Week 5. The team found wins against SEMO, Troy, UCF, Texas Tech, TCU, Houston, Baylor, and Kansas, but couldn’t get it done against Oklahoma State, Texas, and Iowa State.

Meantime, NC State is fresh off of a third-place finish in the ACC with an overall record of 9-3. The Wolfpack took down Virginia, Marshall, Clemson, Miami, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina en route to a date with Kansas State. The trip to the Pop-Tarts Bowl marks the fourth-straight trip to a bowl game for NC State dating back to the 2020 season.

K-State has played in 24 bowl games and has a 10-14 record in those games. The Wildcats have been to a bowl game every year since the 2021 season. Last year, the Wildcats played in the Sugar Bowl and lost to No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young and the Alabama Crimson Tide, 45-20.

The Wildcats and the Wolfpack have never shared the field in program history which means that the winner of the Pop-Tarts Bowl will claim the lead in the head-to-head series, as well as take a bit of the famous edible mascot.
