While Cowboys fans may still be mourning the loss to Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game, Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys received some great news on Tuesday afternoon that lessened the blow of the title game loss.
Oklahoma State’s senior offensive lineman Joe Michalski announced that he would be returning to Stillwater for the 2024 season despite being one of the top-rated centers in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
The senior from Overland Park, Kansas was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index coming out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and quickly developed into one of the league’s top linemen. Michalski checked in as the 103rd-ranked offensive tackle in the Class of 2019 as well as the 10th-ranked player in the state of Kansas.
Michalski updated Cowboys fans on social media with the decision saying, “Hey Cowboy Football fans, starting center Joe Michalski here. I’m excited to announce that I will be returning for the 2024 football season. Just want to give a big shoutout and thank you to Pokes with a Purpose and OL600 for making it possible to keep me a Cowboy for as long as possible.”
While the Cowboys significantly outperformed their expectations in the 2023 season, getting a solid player on the offensive line back like Joe Michalski is a massive step toward finding their way back to Arlington in 2024.
