Kansas State S Kobe Savage Enters Transfer Portal
With transfer portal season officially upon us, college football fans are beginning to witness big names from their favorite teams announce their decision to enter the portal.
And in Manhattan, Kansas State safety Kobe Savage is entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer with one season of eligibility remaining, according to a recent report from On3’s Alex Weber.
Savage became the biggest name to hit the transfer portal for the Wildcats since senior quarterback Will Howard elected to do the same back on November 27th. After winning a Big 12 title with K-State in 2022, Savage will now finish his career elsewhere with one final year of eligibility.
Savage spent two seasons at the JUCO level with Tyler Junior College before electing to join Chris Klieman and the Wildcats in Manhattan for his junior and senior seasons. The Texas native recorded 115 tackles, six interceptions, and one forced fumble during his time as a Wildcat.
Kansas State will now have a major need in the transfer portal to address with one of the best players on defense heading elsewhere. While rumblings of Savage possibly transferring emerged over what was already a tough weekend for Wildcats fans, the loss still comes as a bit of a shock. Chris Klieman will have his hands full with a brand new team in 2024.
