K-State Lands No. 2 Offensive Lineman in the Transfer Portal
For the first time in several offseasons, Chris Kleiman’s biggest concern is going to be retooling the offensive line, which has been so, so good during his tenure.
All-American offensive guard Cooper Beebe is out of eligibility and will hear his name called in April at the 2024 NFL Draft, but Beebe isn’t the only starting lineman who’s headed out the door. In all, K-State stands to lose four of its starting five offensive linemen from the year’s rotation, leaving the room as a major question mark heading into 2024.
One of those spots is now spoken for, as Easton Kilty, the No. 2 overall OL in the transfer portal, has chosen Kansas State as his next destination, according to his Instagram.
Kilty, a junior from Stratford, Wisconsin, is listed at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, and started 35 games at North Dakota over the past three seasons, including every game since his redshirt freshman season. The hulking interior offensive lineman provides a great deal of experience to a room that offensive line coach Conor Riley feels is very versatile despite its youth.
During his time with the Fighting Hawks, Kilty has tallied starts at left guard, right guard, and even right tackle, making him a great piece after losing so much experience after the bowl game.
The Wildcats are set to bring in four offensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting class as well, led by four-star OT Kaedin Massey, the No. 28 OT in the country. With Kilty now a part of that haul via the portal, the future insurance policy for Avery Johnson is starting to look better and better.
