Oregon, Washington to Meet with Former Kansas State Safety Kobe Savage
When Kansas State Wildcats fans watched as former All-Big 12 Safety Kobe Savage entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, many fans were interested in seeing which schools would have the most interest in Savage.
According to a Tuesday report from On3’s Pete Nakos, two current members of the Pac-12 Conference are bringing in the Texas native for official visits set for the upcoming weekend in Oregon and Washington.
Savage became the biggest name to hit the transfer portal for the Wildcats since senior quarterback Will Howard elected to do the same back on November 27th. After winning a Big 12 title with K-State in 2022, Savage is now looking for a place to spend his final year of eligibility.
Savage spent two seasons at the JUCO level with Tyler Junior College before electing to join Chris Klieman and the Wildcats in Manhattan for his junior and senior seasons. The Texas native recorded 115 tackles, six interceptions, and one forced fumble during his time as a Wildcat.
Oregon has been heavily active in the transfer portal this offseason as the Ducks have already earned a commitment from former Oklahoma Sooner and First-Team All-Big 12 quarterback, Dillon Gabriel. While Savage has a long offseason ahead to focus on where to go next, with Washington and Oregon in hot pursuit of the senior safety, the former Wildcat could come off the board soon.
