Will Howard Visiting Miami This Week: Report
Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard is one of the hottest names in the portal right now and has been linked to jobs on both the east and west coasts at this point.
Quarterback is by far and away the most profitable position in college football when it comes to transfer portal opportunities, and Howard is no exception. Lincoln Riley and USC were the early favorites to earn Howard’s services and then it was Texas A&M after offensive coordinator Collin Klein took over playcalling duties in College Station.
Now the betting favorite to land the former Wildcat is Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes, according to the On3 Transfer Portal predictions.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, Howard was on a visit to Coral Gables on Monday, taking in the sights and learning a little more about the Hurricanes’ football program.
Dellenger also went on to say that Washington State quarterback Cam Ward would also take a visit to “The U” this week as the Canes try to find a replacement for Tyler Van Dyke, who himself entered the portal earlier this cycle.
Howard’s production at K-State makes him a proven commodity at the sport’s most pivotal position, with 5,786 passing yards and a school-record 48 passing touchdowns over his four seasons in Manhattan.
It’s no certainty that he’ll be at Miami next fall, but one thing is certain — with all the interest being shown in the former Wildcat signal-caller, he’ll be taking snaps somewhere.
