Bryon Threats Transfers from Cincinnati to UCF
Cincinnati transfer defensive back Bryon Threats has decided to stay in the Big 12, but his destination isn’t likely to make many Bearcats’ fans too happy.
Threats announced on Wednesday that he will transfer to UCF ahead of the 2024 season, and the Knights and Bearcats haven’t exactly been friendly in recent years.
In what became a fairly heated rivalry while the two teams shared the American Atheltic Conference, UCF-Cincy remains heated and will likely continue to be so for the foreseeable future.
For Threats, it will be an emotional line to walk as the 5-foot-10, 190 pound junior will now have seen things from both sides of the rivalry.
After spending three years at Cincinnati, Threats will leave his home state of Ohio to spend his final season of eligibility in Orlando (Fla.). A key fixture in Cincinnati’s defensive backfield over the last few seasons, Threats was around for the Bearcats’ College Football Playoff run in 2021 and obviously helped the team take the jump to the Big 12 this season.
In his final year with UC, Threats played in all 12 games, totaling 57 tackles with 3.0 TFLs, 1.0 sack, and two interceptions.
UCF is set to host Cincinnati in Big 12 play next season at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, meaning Threats will face his team one final time before he runs out of eligibility following the 2024 season.
