Jerome Tang Answers If He’s Still Happy at Kansas State
While Kansas State fans have had a lot on their plate in the wake of the dismissal of senior wing Nae’Qwan Tomlin, one aspect that fans are focused on looks at the relationship between the Kansas State basketball staff and the university.
Jerome Tang was asked if the Nae’Qwan Tomlin situation affected his happiness at Kansas State which prompted a thought-provoking answer from the Wildcats head coach.
“There is a joy in my soul for what I do,” Tang said. “When God says it’s time to move I’m gonna move. Nobody is gonna run me away. No situation is going to scare me.”
While Tang’s comments may not have been the response that K-State fans were hoping for, Jerome Tang believes that his faith will guide him in the right direction when it comes to a decision.
Tang’s full comments read, “I was an assistant coach for 19 years and always wanted to be a head coach. That’s what I wanted to do, I wanted to be a head coach, but the opportunity never came about. I believe God’s hand was on that, for the right time. When God said this is the time, I moved. And with my situation here, when God says it’s time to move, I’ll move. Nobody’s gonna run me away, no situation is gonna scare me. I know I’m called to be here for this moment and this time. if for some reason the lord says ‘I’m moving you somewhere else’, and it doesn’t necessarily mean to another school, it could be to stop coaching. I’m okay with that. Whatever God has for me, that’s what I’m all about.
Tang and the Wildcats take the court next against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday, December 17th in Manhattan, where fans can tune in live on ESPN+.
