Cincinnati Lands Former Ohio State DB Kye Stokes in Transfer Portal

NCAA Football: South Florida at Cincinnati

While the transfer portal provides the opportunity for teams to lose key players through outgoing departures, it also has the ability to help a team bring in key players each offseason.

Scott Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats recently added a new name to their squad ahead of the 2024 season with the commitment of former Ohio State defensive back Kye Stokes.

Stokes didn’t see the field in 2023 but did record some solid numbers in limited outings in the previous season. The Florida native finished off his freshman year with the Buckeyes after recording 12 total tackles and one forced fumble.

Coming out of high school, Stokes was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and checked in as the nation’s 351st-ranked prospect. He was also listed as the 16th-ranked athlete in his class and the 43rd-ranked player in the state of Florida.

Stokes became the Bearcats’ fourth addition through the transfer portal this offseason, but with the portal already featuring a record number of players, Scott Satterfield’s squad will likely have some more names to chase in the near future.
