Oklahoma men's basketball coach Porter Moser.

Six Big 12 teams were among the nation’s best as the Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25 was released after the season’s sixth week of games.

The Big 12 ranked teams included:

Kansas at No. 2 (No. 2 last week);

Houston at No. 3 (No. 3 last week);

Oklahoma at No. 7 (No. 11 last week).

Baylor at No. 10 (No. 6 last week);

BYU at No. 17 (No. 18 last week);

Texas at No. 19 (No. 19 last week);

Two other Big 12 teams received votes, meaning that eight of the league’s 14 teams received at least one vote this week.

Kansas (10-1) played its first true road game of the season and beat Indiana, 75-71, after falling behind by 13 at one point. The Jayhawks have one game this week, as they host Yale on Friday.

Houston (11-0) played just one game last week, beating Texas A&M, 70-66, in a neutral site game in Houston. In the game, the Cougars lost guard Terrence Arceneaux to an injury that will keep him out the rest of the season. This week, the Cougars host Texas State on Tuesday and Penn on Saturday.

Oklahoma (10-0) played one game last week and remained undefeated with an 81-47 win over Green Bay. The Sooners have one game this week, a trip to Charlotte, N.C., to face North Carolina in the Jumpman Invitational on Wednesday.

Baylor (9-1) lost its first game of the season when it fell to Michigan State, 88-64. The Bears will play Duke in New York City on Wednesday and then host Mississippi Valley State on Friday.

BYU (10-1) won two games last week, defeated Denver, 90-74, and Georgia State, 86-54. This week the Cougars have just one game, a Friday contest at home with Bellarmine.

Texas (8-2) beat LSU, 96-85, on Saturday in the first game of a neutral site doubleheader with Houston. The Longhorns play just one game this week, as they will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday.
