Oklahoma OL Cayden Green Transfers to Missouri
One week after shocking the college football world, former Oklahoma offensive lineman Cayden Green has announced that he will transfer to Missouri ahead of the 2024 season, which is just under two hours away from his hometown of Kansas City.
Green was a four-star offensive lineman in the class of 2023 and quickly worked his way onto the field for the Sooners, starting in seven games as a true freshman this season. He ranked as the No. 61 player in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the cycle. Then, after entering the portal, Green immediately became the top offensive lineman in the portal and the No. 9 overall player available.
Now, Green will join the Missouri Tigers, who were one of the biggest surprises in the 2023 season after going 10-2 on the year. He’ll immediately bolster their offensive line unit ahead of what Tigers’ fans hope to be a big year in the new-look SEC.
As one of the brightest spots on the young roster, Green became a staple at right guard for Oklahoma after shining in the Red River Rivalry game against Texas, helping the Sooners to a 34-30 victory.
As the season pressed on, Green established himself as one of the more dominant physical players along the Sooners’ offensive front and appeared to have a bright future under the tutelage of Bill Bedenbaugh.
Now, Oklahoma must officially replace all five starters on the offensive line heading into their first year in the SEC. With teams like Texas, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and yes, Missouri (Nov. 9), on the schedule, that is certainly not ideal.
