Who Rose, Who Fell in the Big 12 on Early National Signing Day 2023?
The Early National Signing Day kicked off with a flurry on Wednesday when most of the incoming freshman signed with their future teams.
In the Big 12, there were some movers and shakers on the Early National Signing Day.
Here’s how the day began and where every team ranked on Wednesday morning, according to the 247 Team Rankings.

And as the day progressed, a few teams moved up the rankings, like West Virginia and Houston, while others fell like Cincinnati and Colorado.
Here’s what the 247 Team Rankings looked like at the end of the day on Wednesday.

Big props to Willie Fritz, who took Houston from outside the Top 100 to #71 by the end of the day on Wednesday, especially since they started the day outside the Top 80. This is a far cry from when Dana Holgorsen said the “ship has sailed” on the 2024 recruiting class.
Meantime, Colorado fell off a cliff on Early National Signing Day, however we all know that Deion Sanders is much more intent on using the transfer portal to fix his needs, so there’s no reason to sound the alarms in Boulder.
West Virginia also closed strong moving up several spots on Early National Signing Day, while Cincinnati dropped a few places.
All in all, there’s a lot of excitement for each Big 12 program, especially when combined with the transfer portal, that has become a staple for programs looking to get impact players from bigger programs who may not be getting as much playing time.
Now, it’s all about the development.
