RJ Harvey Announces Return to UCF in 2024
UCF running back RJ Harvey is one of the top running backs in the nation and certainly has a future in the National Football League.
In 2023, Harvey rushed for 1,296 yards and 16 touchdowns on 6.1 yards per carry, adding 17 receptions for 231 yards and one score as a receiver.
The expectation was that a season of that magnitude was Harvey’s curtain call at the college level, with an eventual declaration for the 2024 NFL Draft coming at some point. However, Knights’ fans got some fantastic news on Thursday, as Harvey declared that he was coming back for another season in Orlando.
Harvey’s return for the Knights is a huge boost for a program heading into its second year in the Big 12, and will give them a great shot at replicating this year’s success on the ground. After all, UCF ranked fourth nationally with 233.2 rushing yards per game in 2024.
The 5-foot-9, 205-pound Orlando native eclipsed the 100-yard mark in six of UCF’s final seven games, with a season-high 206 yards in a 45-3 win over Oklahoma State in Week 11.
Harvey and the Knights will take on Georgia Tech in the Gasparilla Bowl on Friday, December 22, with coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN and ESPN+.
