Ollie Gordon Returning to Oklahoma State in 2024

Oklahoma State Cowboys fans got the best news of the offseason so far with the announcement of Doak Walker award winner Ollie Gordon returning to OSU in 2024.

In 2023, Gordon totaled 258 carries for 1,614 yards and 20 scores while averaging 6.3 yards per carry. Gordon’s return is massive for Mike Gundy’s squad as the top running back in the country is set to return to Stillwater as a junior.

 

Gordon finished second in the country in total rushing yards trailing only Troy’s Kimani Vidal by 47 yards. He 20 rushing scores also finished second in the nation, four behind Michigan’s Blake Corum.

Coming out of high school, Gordon was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 238th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 19th-ranked player at his position and the 37th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

Gordon took home the Doak Walker Award on December 9th, which is the award given to the nation’s best running back. He beat out North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton and Missouri’s Cody Shrader for the award.

Gordon and the Cowboys will take on Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl on Wednesday, December 27, with coverage beginning at 8:00 PM CT on ESPN and ESPN+.
