How To Watch Big 12 Biggest Men’s Basketball Games For Week 8
The Big 12 men’ basketball season starts Week 8 of the season on Monday, but most teams won’t actually get back on the floor until Thursday.
The Christmas holiday allowed players to go home and spend time with family. In years past, the Big 12 has gotten league play started right at New Year’s Day. But, with no SEC Challenge anymore, the league has pushed the schedule back one week. So teams get a bit more time to prepare.
Here’s the complete schedule, how to watch each game and, if you’re so inclined, the three must-watch games of the week.
Kansas vs. Wichita State
How To Watch: 3 p.m., Saturday, ESPN2 (at Kansas City, Mo.)
The Jayhawks head back to the T-Mobile Center for a neutral-site showdown with the Shockers, who are one of those mid-major teams that never seems play like they’re afraid of the high-majors. It will be Kansas’ first game coming off the break. That’s always a bit dangerous.
Wyoming at BYU
How to Watch: 5 p.m., Saturday, Big 12 Now on ESPN+
Wyoming is a team that BYU, now in the Top 25, should beat. But the Cowboys are not a team to overlook. Even though they’re 7-5, they’ve played some quality opponents, including Texas. Like the Kansas game, both teams will be coming off the break and it’s not always a guarantee what you’re going to get. The first 10 minutes of this game should be key.
West Virginia vs. Ohio State
How to Watch: 6 p.m., Saturday, Fox (at Cleveland, Ohio)
The Mountaineers are the one team in the Big 12 that opted to test itself with a high-major opponent after the break. Good for them. At a neutral site it levels the playing field. But WVU will still be without forward Jesse Edwards and will still be working to integrate guards Kerr Kriisa and RaeQuan Battle fully into the offense. A win here would be unexpected for WVU — but it would also be enormous for the mindset of the entire program.
