UCF Lands Former UT Martin DE Daylan Dotson in Transfer Portal
While the UCF Knights‘ season came to an unfortunate end on Friday with a 30-17 loss to Georgia Tech in the Gasparilla Bowl, Gus Malzahn’s squad earned some good news on Wednesday with the addition of former UT Martin defensive end Daylan Dotson.
Dotson announced his decision on social media Wednesday morning saying, “All I gotta say is, Bounce Around dummyyyyy!!! #Goknights.”
Dotson was a big part of UT Martin’s defense in 2023 and accounted for 45 total tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble, and eight pass breakups. In three seasons with the Skyhawks, Dotson totaled 89 tackles, 14 sacks, four forced fumbles, and nine pass breakups.
Coming out of high school, Dotson was unranked by most major recruiting services, but after quickly becoming one of the best pass rushers in the Ohio Valley Conference, he earned a shot with Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights.
Daylan Dotson became the Knights’ seventh addition through the transfer portal this offseason joining the likes of former Cincinnati duo Bryon Threats and Myles Montgomery, Michigan State’s Evan Morris, and more. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college football history, the Knights should have even more players following closely behind.
