It’s become a staple in the bowl season in recent years for a head coach to receive a mayonnaise bath after winning the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. And on Wednesday, it was West Virginia head coach Neal Brown getting the bath after West Virginia beat North Carolina 30-10.
Here’s a look of the video.
The Mountaineers (9-4) won four of their final five regular-season contests entering the game and were making their third bowl game appearance in four years. The Mountaineers won nine games for the first time since 2016.
Duke’s Mayo took over the bowl sponsorship in 2020. It was formerly the Belk Bowl from 2011 to 2019. The bowl began as the Continental Tire Bowl in 2022 and has been played in Charlotte, North Carolina since its inception.
