ESPN: Cooper Beebe is an ‘Immediate Contributor’ in the NFL
Kansas State offensive lineman Cooper Beebe has stacked up an embarrassment of accolades during his time in Manhattan, the latest of which was becoming the first offensive lineman in Wildcats’ history to be named a unanimous All-American.
The 6-foot-4, 335-pound senior out of Kansas City is widely regarded as the best interior offensive lineman in the country, and has been in that conversation pretty much since he took a starting job for the Wildcats a few seasons ago.
On Thursday, Beebe will play in his final collegiate game before heading off to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft. There, Beebe figures to be a hot commodity, as elite interior offensive linemen are hard to come by.
Plenty of draft experts will be watching Beebe play against 18th-ranked North Carolina State on Thursday in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, and ESPN’s Jordan Reid recently shared what kind of role he thinks Beebe might play for an NFL team this time next season.
“Beebe is the definition of a plug-and-play guard with starter potential right out of the gates. At 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds, he has a wide frame and can bring a physical presence to an NFL offensive front. Beebe won’t thrive in space, and you’d want him playing in a downhill scheme that emphasizes overpowering defenders at the point of attack. Beebe is likely a Day 2 pick who will be an immediate contributor.“
If an NFL team is looking for a plug-and-play mauler on the interior, the senior Wildcat is about as safe a bet as you’ll find in this year’s class.
