Cooper Manning Says Reports of Arch Manning Earning Seven Figures are BS
While Texas quarterback Arch Manning’s reported NIL Deals have featured some astronomical numbers, Manning’s father, Cooper Manning, shut down all rumors regarding how much money Arch is bringing home.
Manning spoke to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger about the potential seven-figure NIL rumors and shot them down saying, “All the NIL stuff is BS. People just make up numbers. Don’t believe what you read.”
Manning’s name has popped up in multiple conversations over the past few weeks with many believing that he would be a candidate to enter the transfer portal if Quinn Ewers elects to return to Texas in 2024.
He was also mentioned in a story on Friday that reported Manning earning three times as much money as San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy, despite not seeing the field as a starting quarterback in college football this season.
Manning was asked about his NIL situation at the Sugar Bowl media availability on Saturday where he mentioned, “I’m not involved with my NIL. You would have to ask my dad about that. I have no idea. I don’t think I’m making however much more than Brock Purdy. Someone sent me that the other day.”
While college athletes are starting to earn more money than ever thanks to Name, Image, and Likeness, the reports surrounding Arch Manning‘s NIL budget seem to be a little skewed, at least according to Manning’s own father.
The Sugar Bowl will kick off at 7:45 p.m. CT on Monday, January 1, on ESPN, with the winner heading to the National Championship to face either Alabama or Michigan at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Monday, January 8th.
