Could Iowa State Target Former Ohio State WR Bryson Rodgers?
Bryson Rodgers, a four-star wideout from Ohio State, has entered the transfer portal after spending one season in Columbus.
Ranked as a fringe top-50 player in the state of Florida and a top-45 wide receiver by both 247Sports and Rivals, Rodgers was certainly one of the top players in the country at his position in the class of 2023.
However, after one season at what has quickly become WRU, Rodgers has elected to see what other opportunities are out there and could be on the radar for a team in the Big 12.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Rodgers will have all four years of eligibility remaining and attended high school at Wiregrass Ranch in Zephyrhills, Florida. There, he was a high school teammate of Iowa State quarterback and Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year Rocco Becht.
More than that, Rodgers was Becht’s favorite target during his final year at Wiregrass, connecting with him for 42 receptions for 645 yards and 124 touchdowns in Becht’s senior season.
Could Iowa State be a potential destination for the former four-star talent? If Rodgers is looking for a familiar face who is an established starter at the Power Five level, yes.
Ohio State has now lost 19 players to the transfer portal and three players since their 14-3 loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl over the weekend.
