Michigan DT Says They Were Disgusted Watching TCU Fiesta Bowl Film
While Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines have a date with the Alabama Crimson Tide to focus on, last year’s loss to TCU in the Fiesta Bowl is still on the minds of Michigan defenders.
According to a report from Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, Michigan defensive lineman Kris Jenkins spoke on the difference between the matchup with TCU and Alabama and mentioned that the Wolverines were disgusted with the performance.
“Definitely how much more serious we are,” Jenkins said. “When you turn on the TCU game, you see our defense lagging behind, making easy mistakes, not running to the football. When we watched the film in the offseason, we were disgusted.”
While the Horned Frogs would eventually go on to lose the National Championship 65-7 to the Georgia Bulldogs, TCU’s performance in the 2022 Fiesta Bowl gave Michigan some extra motivation for Monday’s game against Alabama.
TCU had a tough adjustment in the second year of the Sonny Dykes era and finished 11th in the Big 12 Conference with an overall record of 3-6. While the season featured plenty of ups and downs for the Horned Frog faithful, at least fans of the team can watch Michigan in the CFP and know that they had a leg-up on the program.
