Oklahoma Signee David Stone Calls out On3 for ‘Political’ Top Performer List
Before they officially begin making a difference on college rosters this spring, some of the top recruits in the 2024 class are competing against their peers in the Under Armour All-America game this week.
With several of the top prospects in the nation in attendance, there’s no shortage of talent on display during practices this week and, eventually, the UA All-American Game on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. CT.
One of the best players on the field this week has been David Stone, a five-star defensive lineman out of IMG Academy and Oklahoma signee.
According to several members of the media in attendance, Stone has been dominant in one-on-one drills this week, regularly dominating opposing elite offensive prospects.
On3 Recruits, which is in attendance for practices and the game this week, has been releasing top performers for practices every day this week, and Stone has yet to have his name appear on the list.
If you ask Stone though, his exclusion from the list has nothing to do with his performance, but with a bit of politics from the recruiting site.
Stone is undoubtedly the gem of Oklahoma’s 2024 class and is very likely to be a contributor for the Sooners upfront right away. Fellow OU signee, DB Jaydan Hardy, spoke shortly about his excitement to play with a guy of Stone’s ability, and what it means going forward.
“(Playing with Stone) shows you how much the d-line can benefit you and especially guys like that that’s so dominant up front,” Hardy said, according to AllSooners’ Randall Sweet. “You know I only got to sit back there and cover for two seconds. So, you know, I love that for me.”
