TCU QB Chandler Morris to Visit South Carolina: Report
Chandler Morris, former four-star quarterback and son of Clemson offensive analyst Chad Morris, could be headed to the primary rival of his father’s employer.
Morris told SportsTalk Media Network on Sunday evening that he will visit South Carolina “at some point” as he continues to weigh his options in the transfer portal.
Injuries have kept Morris from reaching his immense potential to this point in his career, as he’s entered each of the last two seasons as the Horned Frogs starting quarterback, but failed to stay healthy enough to remain on the field.
During his time in Fort Worth, Morris has appeared in 11 games and thrown for 1,677 yards and 13 touchdowns while also rushing for 273 yards and three scores on the ground. Morris transferred to TCU after committing to Oklahoma out of high school as a member of the 2020 recruiting class.
Morris was the No. 7 QB and No. 196 prospect in his cycle, making him one of the most exciting players in the country in that class. While he’s been healthy, Morris has lived up to the billing, so hopefully he can find a way to stay on the field wherever he lands.
Redshirt freshman Josh Hoover took over as TCU’s starting quarterback in Morris’ absence and was impressive in 2023, completing 62.1% of his passes for 2,206 yards and 15 TDs with nine INTs while maintaining a 77.6 QBR (19th-best in the country).
