Texas Trolls Oklahoma by Bringing OU Manure Bucket for Bevo to Sugar Bowl
The Red River Rivalry is one of the best rivalries in college sports, and if we needed any confirmation, we got that on Monday night just before the Sugar Bowl kicked off in New Orleans.
While the Oklahoma Sooners were watching the College Football Playoff semifinals from home, Texas made sure their rivals made an appearance in the Big Easy, just not the kind of appearance OU would want to make.
Texas brought a manure bucket for their mascot, Bevo, that had the OU logo on it. Check it out.
Texas has done this before, as they typically rotate between an OU-themed manure bucket and a Texas A&M logo bucket. But for the Sugar Bowl, they seemed to prefer tweaking their Red River rival, rather than the Aggies.
You can’t blame them since A&M is so far away from evening thinking about a Playoff appearance, it’s almost not even funny. But OU and UT will enter the SEC in 2024 with expectations that both will be annual competitors in the new 12-team College Football Playoff.
In the meantime, the rivalry lives on, even when the Sooners are on the couch.
