Texas vs. Washington Sugar Bowl Tickets are Plummeting With Hours to Kick Off
The Sugar Bowl is set to kick off at 7:45 pm CST on Monday, January 1st between Texas and Washington, but the get-in ticket price is much lower than what one would expect considering its the Longhorns’ first College Football Playoff appearance.
Here’s a look as of 1:30 p.m. CST, with six hours to kick off.
Interestingly, when compared to TCU vs. Georgia last year, the get-in ticket price was $650. Yes, that game was a National Championship, compared to a semifinal, but given the brand size of Texas and its first Playoff appearance ever, it is stunning to see prices tumble the way they have been in recent days.
Also, the Sugar Bowl is being played in New Orleans, certainly driving distance for a majority of Texas fans, but the demand is just not there with hours until kick off.
These two teams played each other in the 2022 Valero Alamo Bowl when Michael Penix and the Huskies outlasted Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns in a 27-20 decision that came down to Texas’ inability to run the football without Bijan Robinson, garnering just 51 yards on the ground.
The winner of this game will take on either Alabama or Michigan in the National Championship on Monday, January 8th.
