Watch: ‘College Gameday’ Crew Thinks Rece Davis Was Walking into Accidental Racial Slur
Rece Davis and the rest of ESPN’s College Gameday crew are some of the best in the business when it comes to college football analysis.
With a panel consisting of Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard, and Joey Galloway, there’s a wide array of broadcasting talent at the table, but what makes the show so attractive is its nature to go off the rails at times.
On New Year’s Day, live on set at the Rose Bowl, Davis and the crew were entering into a segment on Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.
In this segment, Davis was describing some of the apparel that Milroe has adorned at times throughout the season with the acronym L.A.N.K, which means “Let A Naysayer Know,” but that’s not where the rest of the Gameday crew thought it was headed. Take a look.
“That is not what I thought… boy. Let a naysayer know? Of course.” Pat McAfee said.
“Rece, you were too smooth with that, I thought it was going down. I thought it was going down out here,” Joey Galloway said, barely able to control his laughter.
The entire panel completely lost their composure in the moment, but Davis was headed right through the segment without pause, which goes to show you why he’s the best in the business.
No. 1 Michigan and No. 4 Alabama are set to kick things off from the Rose Bowl at 4:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.
