Lawrence Arnold Returning to Kansas in 2024
Kansas Jayhawks fans got a great piece of news on Tuesday afternoon with the announcement that junior wide receiver Lawrence Arnold is returning to Lawrence in 2024.
Arnold’s return is massive for Kansas as Texas native led the team in receiving yards in 2023 with 782 and capped off his final game as a junior with a three-touchdown performance in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
Arnold finished the 2023 season off with 44 catches for 782 yards and six scores while averaging 17.8 yards per catch. His junior numbers brought his career total to 121 grabs for 1,859 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Coming out of high school, Arnold was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 696th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 110th-ranked player at his position and the 91st-ranked player in the state of Texas.
With the announcement of Arnold’s return, Kansas should return each of its top three pass catchers in 2024 alongside juniors Quentin Skinner and Luke Grimm, who add 62 grabs for 1,142 yards and eight scores. While Kansas has yet to earn a Big 12 title in football since the league’s start in 1996, after returning a player of Arnold’s caliber for his senior season, the Jayhawks have a shot at rewriting history in 2024.
