Oklahoma State DB DJ McKinney Enters Transfer Portal
With transfer portal season officially upon us, college football fans are beginning to witness big names from their favorite teams announce their decision to enter the portal.
According to a report from OKState247’s McClain Baxley, Oklahoma State defensive back DJ McKinney is entering the transfer portal after spending the previous two seasons in Stillwater.
McKinney was a solid contributor for Mike Gundy’s defense in 2023 totaling 38 tackles and five pass breakups in his redshirt freshman season. While he didn’t see the field much in his two seasons with the Cowboys, McKinney racked up a total of 40 tackles in two seasons under Mike Gundy.
Coming out of high school, Pierre was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and checked in as the nation’s 777th-ranked prospect. He was also listed as the 70th-ranked defensive back in his class and the 114th-ranked player in the state of Texas.
Oklahoma State will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024 season, but with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college football history, Mike Gundy should have some options available for replacement.
