West Virginia DL Tomiwa Durojaiye Enters Transfer Portal
West Virginia defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye has entered the portal after spending one season with the Mountaineers.
The redshirt sophomore transferred in from Kentucky after the 2022 season and was a contributor for the Mountaineers’ defense, totaling 23 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in his lone season in Morgantown.
Durojaiye is a second-time transfer, and in years past he would have to sit out a year before he became eligibile with his next team.
However, thanks to an ongoing court case that ironically revolves around West Virginia basketball player Rae’Quan Battle, Durojaiye will be immediately eligible to trasnfer and play at his new school immediately.
A four-star DL in the 2022 class, according to On3, Durojaiye is product of Middletown High School in Delaware, and listed West Virginia in his final four schools alongside Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Kentucky, where he ultimately ended up signing.
Now, back in the portal, Durojaiye will look for his third destination in three seasons, and hopefully find a place that is worth staying for the remainder of his three years of eligibility.
