Oklahoma State LB Collin Oliver to Return for 2024 Season

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State will have one of its best defenders returning for the 2024 season as linebacker Collin Oliver announced that he will return to Stillwater for another year.

Oliver, listed at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds, changed positions this year, going from a defensive end to an outside linebacker as part of Bryan Nardo’s 3-3-5 defensive scheme.

Over his first two seasons with the Pokes, Oliver tallied 16.5 sacks and was named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2021.

In his announcement, Oliver said that he is “looking forward to one final ride” with the Cowboys, who are coming off a 10-4 season and a second-place finish in the Big 12.

This year, Oliver took a bit to settle into his new role but eventually flourished in the new scheme, finishing fourth on the team with 73 tackles, tied for the team lead with 6.0 sacks, and second on the team with 15.5 tackles for loss while forcing four fumbles and five pass breakups.

Getting Oliver back to pair with fellow linebacker Nick Martin and do-it-all safety Kendal Daniels gives the Pokes a very strong contingent of returning playmakers, which is great news for a team that is also set to return Ollie Gordon and Brennan Presley on offense.
