Former Kansas State Quarterback Will Howard Picks Transfer Destination

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia

One day after it was reported that Will Howard was taking an official visit to Ohio State, the former Wildcats quarterback announced on social media he would be joining the Buckeyes program.

Here’s what Howard posted on his social media page.

Howard led K-State to a Big 12 title in 2022 and is Kansas State’s all-time passing touchdowns leader with 45 scores through the air over four years.

There was interest from Miami and USC, but they appeared to cool off in recent weeks, and while the NFL was also an option, obviously Howard thought it was best to remain in college for another season.

Speculation grew about Howard going to Columbus after Ohio State’s awful Cotton Bowl performance on offense. Meantime, the writing appeared to be on the wall for Howard in Manhattan, where Avery Johnson is set to take over at quarterback for the Wildcats. In the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Johnson threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for over 70 yards with a score. As a team, the Wildcats racked up 257 rushing yards and 435 total yards in a 28-19 win over NC State.
