Social Media Explodes Over TCU Flagrant Foul Call at Kansas
While Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks are no strangers to close games down the stretch at Allen Fieldhouse, TCU stepped up and delivered a massive challenge.
Jamie Dixon’s squad led Kansas 79-77 with 57 seconds left, but after TCU’s Ernest Udeh Jr. received a technical foul for contact with Hunter Dickinson during a loose ball, Kansas was awarded a Flagrant 1 that drastically changed the game, and lit social media on fire in the process.
Kansas was given two free throws and the basketball back with less than one minute remaining, which helped spawn the comeback for the Jayhawks in their season opener. Kansas would go on and advance to 1-0, beating the TCU Horned Frogs 83-81.
Here are some notable social media reactions from the call.
While the recipe for a Kansas win may have been a bit unorthodox against TCU, Kansas survives a tough matchup against the Horned Frogs. No. 2 Kansas will take the court next on Wednesday, January 10th against Johnny Dawkins and the UCF Knights.
