Look: Graphic Shows Dominance of Big 12 Basketball in 2023-24
While it’s been widely known for several years that the Big 12 Conference is the best basketball conference in America, a recent graphic from FOX College Hoops solidified that fact in an eye-catching way.
The graphic shows off how many teams from each conference are currently ranking in the AP Top 25, where the Big 12 Conference holds a commanding lead with six teams in the field.
The six teams mentioned in the recent AP Poll included No. 2 Houston, No. 3 Kansas, No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 14 Baylor, No. 18 BYU, and No. 25.
While the AP Poll is one way to highlight the impressive competition among Big 12 teams, the league has also seen a lot of love in the KenPom Top 30. Nine teams checked in on the recent update from KenPom including Houston (No. 1), BYU (No. 9), Baylor (No. 13), Kansas (No. 16), Iowa State (No. 19), Oklahoma (No. 20), Texas Tech (No. 27), Cincinnati (No. 28), and TCU (No. 30).
The Big 12 Conference continues to solidify its place as the top basketball conference in America, and with the addition of Houston, Cincinnati, BYU, and UCF, the league only continues to improve. With four new schools joining the Big 12 Conference in 2024, the league would also add three representatives in the KenPom Top 35. Arizona (No. 3), Utah (No. 31), and Colorado (No. 33) all were listed in the recent update.
The next round of Big 12 Conference games tip off on Tuesday, January 9th.
