UCF Lands Former Four-Star Transfer LB Zavier Carter
Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights brought a new name to Orlando ahead of the 2024 season with the addition of former UNLV linebacker Zavier Carter through the transfer portal.
Carter is a former four-star, top 250-ranked recruit from Georgia, who spent two seasons with the LSU Tigers before transferring to UNLV for the 2023 season.
While Carter hasn’t seen the field much during his three-year career, the Georgia native has recorded 23 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass breakup during his time with LSU and UNLV.
Coming out of high school, Carter was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 224th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 24th-ranked linebacker in his class and the 19th-ranked player in the state of Georgia.
Carter became the Knights’ 12th addition through the transfer portal this offseason joining Arkansas’ KJ Jefferson, Texas Tech’s Jesiah Pierre, Cincinnati’s Deshawn Pace, Michigan State’s Evan Morris, and more.
While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, UCF kicks off their 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st against the New Hampshire Wildcats.
