Arizona Leads Four Future Big 12 Schools in Final 2023 AP Poll

NCAA Football: Arizona at Utah

The final AP Poll dropped on Tuesday morning after Michigan’s 34-13 win over Washington in the National Championship game. The Wolverines, of course, come in as the No. 1 team in the land after wrapping up a perfect 15-0 season with their first national title in 26 years.

Washington (14-1), Texas (12-2), Georgia (13-1), and Alabama (12-2) round out the Top 5, after each turned in spectacular seasons as well.

The Big 12 is well-represented in the poll as well, and that goes for the new-look conference as well.

Arizona (10-3) comes in at No. 11 after capping off their season with a 38-24 win over Oklahoma (10-3) in the Alamo Bowl. The Sooners finish their second season under Brent Venables ranked No. 15 in the final poll.

Oklahoma State (10-4) is the second-highest-ranked team in the new-look Big 12, coming it at No. 16 after a 31-23 win over Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl gave them yet another 10-win season under Mike Gundy.

Kansas State (9-4) is next, coming in at No. 18 after a 28-19 win over NC State (9-4) in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, who finished the year at No. 21.

Kansas (9-4) moved into the final AP poll at No. 23 after its ninth win of the 2023 season, a 49-36 win over UNLV (9-5) in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. It’s the first time KU has finished ranked in the AP Poll since 2007, when they finished the year at No. 7.
