Florida State LB DJ Lundy Spurns Colorado to Return to Seminoles
The transfer portal giveth and the transfer portal taketh away, and sometimes, it does both. For Colorado, that’s exactly what happened with linebacker DJ Lundy, who was set to transfer to Boulder and fill a major need at linebacker.
However, Lundy ultimately decided to spurn Deion Sanders and the Buffs, instead opting to withdraw his name from the portal and return to Florida State.
Lundy broke the news on Wednesday, just 16 days after announcing his intentions to play for Colorado on Christmas Day.
This is a big-time loss for the Buffaloes, as Lundy was set to be a vital piece of their defense as they enter the Big 12.
Over the last four seasons at Florida State, Lundy piled up 170 tackles, 14 for a loss, two-and-a-half sacks, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. At 6-foot-1, 244 pounds, Lundy is a versatile athlete who was also used on the offensive side of the ball, scoring two rushing touchdowns and one receiving score.
Lundy logged 403 defensive snaps in 2023 (per PFF) and graded out as the sixth-best defender on the Seminoles roster with a 78.2 defensive rating.
