Look: Kansas RB Devin Neal to Return for 2024 Season
Kansas football will officially return one of the most dynamic backfields in all of college football next season as running back Devin Neal officially announced that he will be back in Lawrence for the 2024 season.
Neal, a 5-foot-11, 210-pound junior from Lawrence (Kan.), will flank quarterback Jalon Daniels in the backfield next season, giving offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes plenty of talent to work with when it comes to the running game.
Neal made his announcement on Thursday morning via social media, sending KU fans into a frenzy of excitement for what the offense in Lawrence could look like next season.
Neal is coming off his best season to date with 1,280 rushing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 6.3 yards per carry, all of which were career highs. He also logged a career-best 25 receptions for 217 yards and a score. Neal’s 1,280 rushing yards in 2023 placed him 16th nationally as the talented homegrown product topped 100 yards six times on the year.
With Neal returning, Kansas has nearly its entire host of skill talent coming back next season with Lawrence Arnold, Luke Grimm, and Quentin Skinner all set to return as well. In total, the Jayhawks look to have eight of 11 offensive starters returning in 2024, and that bodes well for a conference title race that looks to be as wide open as ever.
