TCU Lands Former Memphis Transfer S Cameron Smith
While the TCU Horned Frogs may have struggled in the 2023 college football season, Sonny Dykes and his staff are doing everything they can in the transfer portal to ensure that doesn’t happen again.
TCU added a new name to their roster ahead of the 2024 season with the addition of former Memphis safety Cameron Smith through the transfer portal.
Smith was a big part of Memphis’ defense in 2023 recording 57 total tackles, three interceptions, and six pass breakups. Through three years of college football, Smith has recorded 79 total tackles, three interceptions, and seven pass breakups for the Tigers.
Despite being an unranked prospect coming out of high school, Smith worked his way into an opportuntity at Memphis, and will now take the field in the 2024 season as a member of the TCU Horned Frogs.
Smith became TCU’s 14th addition through the transfer portal this offseason joining Notre Dame’s Braylon James, Boise State’s Eric McAlister, Tulane’s Devean Deal, and more.
While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, TCU kicks off their 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st against the Stanford Cardinal.
