Former Alabama Transfer WR Isaiah Bond Commits to Texas

NCAA Football: Texas at West Virginia

While the Texas Longhorns are losing multiple big-name playmakers at the wide receiver position to the 2024 NFL Draft, Steve Sarkisian’s team reloaded by adding a new name to the group.

Texas landed the top-ranked receiver available in the portal, former Alabama wideout Isaiah Bond who elected to transfer following the news of Nick Saban’s retirement.

Bond was a big part of Alabama’s offensive success in 2023 recording 48 grabs for 668 yards and four scores in his sophomore season. Bond saw limited action as a freshman in 2022 and totaled 17 catches for 220 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Coming out of high school, Bond was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 52nd-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the second-ranked player at his position and the sixth-ranked player in the state of Georgia.

Bond became Texas’ fourth addition through the transfer portal this offseason joining Houston’s Matthew Golden, UTSA’s Trey Moore, and Clemson’s Andrew Mukuba.

While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, Texas kicks off their 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st against the Colorado State Rams.
