Former Stanford Tight End Ben Yurosek Schedules Visit to Texas
While the Texas Longhorns are losing their star tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders to the NFL Draft, Steve Sarkisian is doing what he can to land one of the top available tight ends in the transfer portal.
According to a Monday report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, former Stanford tight end Ben Yurosek has set a date for an official visit to Texas.
Yurosek was a big part of Stanford’s offensive success in over the past four seasons and has recorded a total of 1,337 yards and five scores. As a senior in 2023, Yurosek totaled 16 grabs for 239 yards and one touchdown.
Coming out of high school, Yurosek was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 453rd-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 19th-ranked player at his position and the 39th-ranked player in the state of California.
Should the Longhorns earn a commitment from the California native, he would become Texas’ fifth addition through the transfer portal this offseason joining Alabama’s Isaiah Bond, Houston’s Matthew Golden, UTSA’s Trey Moore, and Clemson’s Andrew Mukuba.
While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, Texas kicks off their 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st against the Colorado State Rams.
