Look: Lincoln Riley on Sidelines at Eagles vs. Buccaneers NFL Playoff Game

The Eagles vs. Buccaneers NFL Wild Card Playoff Game kicked off from Tampa Bay on Monday night with a former Big 12 coach in attendance.

Lincoln Riley was roaming the sidelines in Florida to watch, most notably, two of his former quarterbacks, Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts square off for a trip to the Divisional Round.

Here are some of the sideline shots.

Last week, Riley was asked about the match up and he said he feels like a “proud father.”

“Just kind of sitting back and watching those guys live out their dreams and be NFL starting quarterbacks and compete for Super Bowls,” he said. “It’s just really, really cool to see them and what they’ve both accomplished.”

Monday marks the first time Riley has seen two of his former college quarterbacks meet in the NFL Playoffs. Previously, he had seen Mayfield and Hurts play each other in a regular season game.

Riley has long been tied to potential NFL openings as his star rose in college football. However, Riley is coming off his worst season as a head coach, finishing 8-4 (5-4 in Pac-12 play) with the USC Trojans. The program ended its season with a win in the Holliday Bowl.

Also on Monday, Riley’s 2023 starting quarterback Caleb Williams announced he would be entering the 2024 NFL Draft.
