Former Penn State WR Dante Cephas Transfers to Kansas State
Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats added a big playmaker to their wide receiver room with the addition of former Penn State wideout Dante Cephas.
Cephas spent the first four seasons of his career at Kent State where he played for current Kansas State wide receiver coach Matthew Middleton. The pair is now set to reunite once again in Manhattan.
While Penn State’s passing attack was one of the worst units in the Big Ten in 2023, Cephas still found ways to make some big plays. The Pennsylvania native totaled 22 grabs for 246 yards and two touchdowns in his lone season with the Nittany Lions. In the previous four years at Kent State, Cephas recorded 163 catches for 2,366 yards and 14 scores.
Coming out of high school, Cephas was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and checked in as the nation’s 2508-ranked prospect. He was also listed as the 298th-ranked receiver in his class and the 46th-ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania.
Middleton helped Cephas record his best season as a junior when he exploded for 82 catches for 1,240 yards and nine touchdowns. Cephas will head to Manhattan and team up with the Wildcats newest signal caller, Avery Johnson.
