2025 Four-Star DL Lance Jackson Commits to Texas
Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of four-star defensive lineman Lance Jackson.
Jackson elected to join the Longhorns after receiving offers from 27 different schools including Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Houston, Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, and more.
Jackson took a visit to Texas this weekend with his family, and after spending time in Austin with the team, the Texas native elected to commit to Texas.
“It went really well,” Jackson told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “I just loved getting back on campus because I haven’t really been there for a visit only, for a camp and a game, but it was just good getting to spend time with the coaches, especially Coach PK (Pete Kwiatkowski, DC).”
Coming out of high school, Jackson is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 105th-ranked player. He also checks in as the ninth-ranked defensive lineman in his class and the 18th-ranked player in the state of Texas.
With his commitment, Jackson became the Wildcats fifth addition in the class of 2025 joining a cast of two four-star players and two three-stars.
While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, Texas kicks off the 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st, against the Colorado State Rams.
