Big 12 to Release 2024 Football Schedule on January 30: Report
While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, Big 12 fans could get their first look at the upcoming schedule as early as January 30th, according to a Sunday report from The Athletic’s Max Olson.
Olson reported that one source revealed the league’s plans to announce the upcoming Big 12 football schedule on Tuesday, January 30th.
While the official schedule has yet to be released, the conference did release its scheduling matrix for the next four seasons, which includes who each team will play, and the location, but the dates for 2024 have yet to be shared publicly.
Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark provided an update on the Big 12 football schedule ahead of the 2023 Big 12 Championship Game saying, “(Big 12 vice president of football) Scott Draper led the charge in our scheduling. We created a committee and athletic directors weighed in on what it would look like. I think we landed in a wonderful spot. I was very pleased with it. It was a collaborative effort. And we’ll see how it unfolds. But I think it was exactly where we needed to land.”
The league is adjusting to a bigger conference with four new teams joining the Big 12 in 2024 with Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, and Colorado expanding the league to 16 teams. Following the departure of Oklahoma and Texas this coming summer, the Big 12 will have eight long-time teams in the league and eight recently-added teams, with BYU, Houston, UCF, and Cincinnati joining the conference last summer.
