Deion Sanders Ranks His Children, Travis Hunter Included
Deion Sanders is no stranger to the spotlight, and neither are his children. “Primetime” has been the center of attention in any room he walks into for over 30 years now, and that’s not likely to change during his stint as the head football coach at Colorado.
Heading into the 2024 season, Sanders has two children playing for the Buffaloes, three if you count two-way athlete Travis Hunter.
In a recent appearance on RG3 and the Ones, a podcast hosted by Robert Griffin III, Sanders talked about everything from coaching the Dallas Cowboys to Nick Saban’s retirement.
However, one of the most compelling topics that Sanders and Griffin dove into was how he currently ranks his children, plus Travis Hunter.
“Let me see, right now,” Sanders said. “Like right now. Right now, I’m gonna throw Shilo at number one. Shilo’s been consistent, he’s balling. He’s been balling, man.”
“He just called me, they’re in Paris right now at the fashion show…So, three of my boys are out there. Two of them, Bucky‘s filming everything. Shedeur and Shilo are walking in the fashion show in Paris right now. Matter of fact, they’re probably walking right now. So, Shilo has been balling and he never usually claims the number one spot because he does something crazy to get on my nerves but he is that guy right now.”
Shilo is a defensive back for the Buffs and comes in the No. 1 spot in the Prime rankings (right now), but the No. 2 spot belongs to one of his children who isn’t on the roster in Boulder.
“Number two would probably be Deiondra. Yeah. She’s the number two right now. She’s consistent and she listens when she asks me for advice about this and that. Number three has to be Shedeur. No. no. Bucky. Bucky’s three. Bucky keep me laced because he’s making some heck of a YouTube money. He keeps me laced. He’s killing it,” Sanders said.
“Then Shedeur, then Bossy [Shelomi], then Travis. If I put Travis in front of one of the Sanders, they will cuss me out. Bossy, my daughter, she plays basketball here. She just walked in here a minute ago. I know she wanted to hold something but I had people in there so she couldn’t ask them in front of everybody because I know she wants to borrow something, ‘Daddy, you got any money?’ ‘Nope. Daddy ain’t got nothin.’”
For now, it’s Shilo, Deiondra, Bucky, Shedeur, Bossy, and then Travis Hunter, but those are certain to change.
“So, that’s how I rank them right now, but it’s continually changing. If I text you, you don’t text me back, you fall. That’s it.”
